Welcome to our Rape Crisis section, here we aim to give you all the information we can on this area - starting with
the problem below:

Situation: Rachael was hanging around with a group of friends near some playing fields. One of the boys she knows encourages her to come to a part of the field where the others can not see them. They start to kiss; Rachael said she didn't want to go any further. The boy carried on and had sex with her even though she had said no several times and was upset and frightened.

Serious Offence: Rape is a very serious offence. No means no and this incident would be treated as rape. Rachael not only has the trauma of the offence but has been put at risk of pregnancy and infection

Rape is forcing someone to have sex, without their consent.

Consent means agreeing that you want to have sex with the person as well, with no doubt.

Rape victims are not just females; around 1 in 10 males are raped in their lifetime - Only 20% of rapes are reported to the police.

If you have been raped, DO NOT suffer in silence always speak out!
