It releases progestogen hormone which is similar to the natural progesterone that women produce in their ovaries.The Implant lasts up to 3 years and is the size or a hair grip. With the implant your body can take 3-6 months to get use to the hormone. During this time your periods may be unpredictable, frequent, heavier or lighter.
