No matter what contraceptive method you use, we ALWAYS recommend that you use condoms to ensure you do not catch any STI’s. If you decide not to use a condom then many young people will get tested first to make sure they do not pass on an infection as many infections do not have any symptoms.

There are two types of condoms the male and female condom.

Male Condom

A male condom fits over a man’s erect penis and is made of very thin latex (rubber) or Polyurethane (plastic).

Female Condom

A female condom is made of very thin polyurethane. It is put into the vagina and loosely lines it. Femidom is the only female condom available in the UK.

There are many different types of condoms available such as pleasure max, extra safe, elite, flavoured condoms and many more. Try different ones to see which suit you and your partner better.
